Virtual Learning: The Good The Bad And The Ugly
Virtual learning certainly isn't something easy for me; however, it isn't all bad. Navigating through a time when life and social norms have completely been flipped upside down it can be difficult adjusting to the many changes life throws at you, but I believe that together we can find a way to assimilate to the new normal.
My Personal Experience
“To improve is to change; to be perfect is to change often.” -Winston Churchill
Change is never something easy. When I first began virtual learning last semester following the corona-virus outbreak, I really struggled to find motivation to complete the tasks at hand. The days felt long and never-ending, and my workload felt heavy and almost suffocating. The biggest battle I faced was my own personal mindset and the ability to see past the negative aspects of my current situation. The moment I decided to see virtual learning as a new opportunity and began to change my mindset towards it I saw a drastic change in my overall performance.
How To Set Your Self Up For Success
The best way to set yourself up for success is to create a positive mindset. When I began to look at the pros of online learning I began to way out the many negative aspects. With not as much to do at home I had the ability to get ahead on assignments and create a significantly lighter workload for myself; with the freedom of being at home a devote time in my day to be outside and take long walks with my dog. Instead of only seeing the negative I began to look at all the new opportunities I now had. It was only at the moment I decided to stop being negative did my entire viewpoint change.
